Documentary Screening on the Mines of Kalavasos
On Friday, 21 November 2025, at 7 p.m., a documentary dedicated to the history of the Kalavasos mines and the miners of the community will be screened at the Timotheio Cultural Centre of Kalavasos
On Friday, 21 November 2025, at 7 p.m., a special documentary dedicated to the rich mining heritage of Kalavasos will be screened at the Timotheio Cultural Centre (former Museum).
The documentary highlights:
- the development of the Kalavasos mines from the early 20th century,
- the challenging and often harsh working conditions faced by the miners,
- personal testimonies from people who lived and worked in the mines,
- rare photographs and archival material illustrating the mines’ influence on the village’s social and economic life.
A screening that honours the history, the people, and the memory of the community.
The event is organised by the People’s Organisations, PEO, and KAON Kalavasos.
